Jennifer

Founder | Dental Claims & Billing Specialist

I started InsuraSmile after spending more than 16 years working inside dental offices as both a front office manager and assistant. Over that time, I saw how hard dental teams work every day, and how often insurance and billing issues get in the way of getting paid for that work.

I have been directly involved in all aspects of running a dental office, from managing schedules and working with patients to handling claims, follow-ups, and insurance communication. That experience shaped how I approach billing today. It is not just about submitting claims. It is about making sure nothing falls through the cracks and that every dollar is accounted for.

I am FAADOM certified and continue my education to stay current with industry best practices. I believe there is always something new to learn, especially when it comes to improving systems and staying ahead of changes in insurance.

Over the years, I have helped several dental offices improve their internal processes, strengthen their billing systems, and become more profitable. I have seen how small changes can make a big difference when the right systems are in place.

I started InsuraSmile to be the kind of billing partner I wish every office had. Someone who understands how things actually work inside a practice and who is committed to following through until the job is done.

At the end of the day, my goal is simple. I want to help dental offices get paid for the work they have already done, and give them the confidence that their billing is being handled the right way.

I support InsuraSmile behind the scenes and focus on keeping the business running smoothly.

My background is in finance, accounting, and data analysis. I have always been interested in building systems that are organized, efficient, and reliable. At InsuraSmile, I handle payroll, accounting, and the internal tools we use every day.

While the billing team works directly with dental offices and insurance companies, my role is to make sure they have everything they need to do that work well. That includes maintaining clean financials, improving processes, and keeping our systems simple and dependable.

I also manage the IT side of the business. I set up and maintain the tools we use, make sure everything stays secure, and fix problems when they come up. It is work that usually happens in the background, but it plays an important role in how we operate as a team.

My goal is to remove as many obstacles as possible so the team can stay focused on helping clients get paid.

I have worked in the dental field for 21 years. Starting out as a pediatric dental assistant and then working my way through numerous roles including treatment coordination, managing front office, insurance coordination, specialty offices, and remote billing, there is no other field I would rather be in.

I truly love what I do and have enormous pride in it and InsuraSmile. Being involved since day one, I have been able to experience and enjoy the wonderful relationships we have built with our clients and see the positive impact we have brought to their offices. Our team is an extension to a dental front office, who not only handle a number of duties but are there to help with training, guidance, and peace of mind so the office can focus on what is most important: patients.

My expertise is in clean claim submission, correct posting of insurance payments and EOBs, maintaining claims aging reports, and appeals. My favorite wins are finding solutions and getting those difficult appeals paid.

If I am not working you can find my husband and I chasing around our very active almost 2 year old daughter who keeps us very busy!

I love teaching and training people. My skill expertise is in CEREC training and also love managing people. I enjoy hands on and love to utilize my expanded functions as much as possible

I chose dentistry because I knew I wanted to help people and be a part of the health field in some way. I also knew that family was big to me and wanted to be able to still have time for my family. I always loved going to the dentist growing up, the hygienist and dentist I saw was a big impact on that.

When I am not working chairside at two practices or at home working remote. You can find me with my son and husband. We love to travel and enjoy time on the lake. We moved to Table Rock Lake because of our mutual love for the lake and when it is summer you can find us on one of our boats!

Fun fact about me: I learned to slalom ski 3 days before my wedding

I chose dentistry because I have always loved teeth, it is the first thing I notice, and I love everything about it from admin side to the clinical side! It truly is my passion.

Philosophy of care: I have worked both admin and clinical so I see how much the two intertwine and help each other out when it comes to all things billing. Clinically I know what documentation from the x-rays, intra-orals, and detailed narratives are needed to be successful in getting claims paid. I want every office to be successful in getting paid for all of their hard work and care they give to their patients.

In the office with assisting I love being a part of working with patients to achieve their oral health goals. With consulting I love helping offices reach their full potential and grow their rockstar team! And of course with remote billing I love helping offices streamline their billing systems to give accurate treatment plans and get paid for all of their hard work!

Outside of work I love spending time with my two kiddos, Hadley and Holden! They keep me busy with all of their sports! I love spending time with my family and being outdoors! And of course I love shopping!

Fun fact about myself: I love to travel, I traveled to Arizona, Louisiana, Canada, New York and Tennessee all within four months!

I joined InsuraSmile in 2024 to help support a growing team and quickly found that I really enjoy the challenge of working through the day-to-day issues that come with insurance billing. I find it rewarding to dig into aging reports, figure out where things are getting stuck, and help practices get paid what they are actually owed.

I have a Master’s in Education, a Bachelor’s in Public Relations, and an Associate’s in Advertising and PR. My career in operations management gave me a strong foundation in managing systems, solving problems quickly, working with teams, and staying on top of financial performance. That experience taught me how to handle fast-paced environments, spot inefficiencies, and fix breakdowns before they turn into bigger issues. Those same skills carry over directly into insurance billing and aging management.

I enjoy working with practices that want to improve their numbers and take control of their accounts. Every office is different, and I like being able to step in, understand their process, and help them build something that works better long term.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my wife and our two boys. We are usually out at the lake whenever we can be.
